Yearling Sale on the 'Net

OnGait.com has recently announced a two week yearling sale on-line. Do you think this will fly? Or do you prefer seeing the horse in the flesh, sort of speak? It will be interesting to see what the results will be. Would you buy a horse on-line.....period???

looking for an interested trainer

I've owned horses for about ten years, usually one at a time. My most recent was claimed at YR in Jan. for 25k.
My problem is that I'd like to get back in at YR, at a little lower level- 10/15, and my pevious trainer (a great guy), really doesn't handle that stock. Here's the thing, I've contacted three trainers since, and they have all either shown unenthusiastic, minimal interest (in one case), or not returned my calls.
My question being, in this economy there...

Is it true that it costs ~ $1700/monthly to maintain a racehorse??How do owners do it and race at venues like freehold where the purses are pathetic?? How do you guys do it?? I am not an owner, but thinking of it.

This sport was build on having good owners and today all the good ones are either dead or tired of getting taken advantage of. Back in the good days we would always have the granstands packed but the thing was it was all the owners and thier friends.
