        <![CDATA[ There is an entry in the View From the Racetrack Grandstand blog which wonders why we don&#39;t get women drivers that compete regularly at our pari-mutuel
tracks.  Look at any t-bred track and there is at least one or two women drivers that compete with some regularity.  As the blog says, this can be a great
marketing campaign.

			<description><![CDATA[ You are right: most of the women drivers seem to be driving their own stock. Some might say this is evidence of women&#39;s &quot;nurturing&quot; nature that
they want to take care of the horses, not just take what&#39;s available as catch drivers. But it likely also has lots to do with other trainers not selecting
the women drivers for their horses, regardless of talent.

			<description><![CDATA[ I have seen the Mildred Williams Series, in fact they were in Goshen, and most of these ladies had less than 25 drives for the whole year. In fact, most of
them were racing their own horses or horses they trained. It is just said they are not given the chance to race more often and get more exposure. ]]></description>

Also here in NS, Clare MacDonald is one of <em>the</em> top drivers (-not just top &quot;lady driver&quot;), although she was kicked in the face last year by a
horse as she got in the bike &amp; needed serious surgery. She&#39;s Canada&#39;s top female driver by win percentage (or was before the accident) &amp; one of
