as far as promotion goes.. look at the work the management at Vernon Downs has done... i recently posted an article about their gains this year... track management has done a nice job making the races a family destination while at the same time bringing some of the quality horses that until they reopened you just didn't see in Upstate New York unless it was a NYSS race when there wasn't a major stake on the schedule... in the last 2 years we've gotten to see Dewey, My Little Dragon, Falls for You, Vivid Photo, Enough Talk, San Remo Kosmos, and others win races here...  the track apron has kids rides up and open every racing day with giveaways geared toward the little ones designed at building a base once they get older...  every race night there is a different promotion/draweing whether it be change your luck, the 60 second wagering spree or that's my driver....  and the giveaways... they gave away snowshovels closing night to patron that live in the snow capitol of the country.... now that't track management that's in tune with their clientele...  hope this helps some
